Q: “What is a Whistleblower?”

Whistleblower is a term used for an employee who reports an employer’s illegal actions or unethical practices to the authorities. California whistleblower protection laws prohibit employers from retaliating against employees who report the violation. In certain situations, retaliation can look as extreme as a wrongful termination or as subtle as a demotion.
